A state where the intelligence of illness cultivates healing

I'm recovering from a flu and am almost through it. During this time I've done some playful exercises, like this one to keep myself entertained. I've been exploring the gift of illness which has given me an unexpected inspiration. I also found a strange enjoyment in feeling 'useless' up to a point where rest has become an active and fulfilling part of my day.

I’ve always seen every form of illness as a vital contribution from life itself. The intelligence of illness brings health to us. It simply reminds us that we are not invincible, and that we are not a machine. It also strengthens our humanness, which is far underrated in our world today. A bonus is that a lot of irrelevant stuff becomes increasingly significant, which is an elixir to do things differently - and hopefully better.🌱

The way we can surrender to life’s natural rhythm and stories, catalyzes life’s reweaving of health, both a marker and a doorway to flows that shape our existence, our experiences, and actions. Every illness offers an intriguing possibility for us to actually live healthier and more embodied, wouldn't you agree?

And ‘health’ could not be any more crucial than it already is. We live in a time where about a third of the world’s population reportedly lives with more than 5 illnesses, and the proportion of years of healthy life people lost because of illness (rather than simply dying earlier) rose from 21 percent in 1990 to 31 percent in 2013. While it is mirroring the larger dis-ease in the world, it is also an invitation for other forms of connection. Perhaps you too are sensing the pulse that has been urging us to rest and reconnect with our human needs. The expression of unrest is influencing the general sentiment of our times: physical and psychological breathlessness is everywhere.

I'm taking my time to breathe and look forward to reconnect soon.
