Is it possible that one could think of mental health care in radically different ways? The Open Up clinical breathwork study is meant to create a shift in the future of health and the future of education. With the result we help to deepen our scientific understanding of how breath work brings about personal change; biologically and psychologically. 

Katrien Franken set out this study in 2020 and collaborated with research volunteers and Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. The academic study results were published on September 8th, 2023.

Open Up is foregrounding the power of inner work, to make humans possible. This youth centric development project was first introduced in 2021 to youngsters in Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda, Africa. The program offers the fundamentals of breath work & inquiry in a holistic approach to support their inner health growth, mastery and longevity.

We are currently creating possibilities for refugee youth in Tanzania. Consider supporting us and our local refugees and communities involved.
